This is a test...

What is fraud?
Fraud is the "intentional perversion of truth in order to induce another to part with something of value or to surrender a legal right." (By permission. From Merriam-Webster's Collegiate® Dictionary at www.Merriam-Webster.com by Merriam-Webster, Incorporated.)

What is the special investigation unit?
The Special Investigation Unit (SIU) is vigilant, proactive and public in our commitment to fighting fraud. Our SIU brings together professionals from a number of departments who collectively possess the expertise and professional skills needed to fight fraud.

Our SIU actively educates, detects, investigates, prevents and reports suspected insurance fraud. The SIU cooperates with law enforcement agencies to prosecute civil and criminal fraud.

We are a board member of the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud (C.A.I.F.) and a founding member of the New York Alliance Against Insurance Fraud (N.Y.A.A.I.F.).
